Willies Restaurant in Vilamoura, is the holder of one Michelin Star and serves International cuisine in an elegant and refined atmosphere. The inside of the restaurant is relatively small but the decor, the place settings and the art that adorns the walls allow you to know that this is no average restaurant and nor is the food you are about to receive.
The waiters at Willies are obviously highly experienced and have an armoury of quips for your entertainment. They are very sociable and professional and ably recommended a suitable wine to complement our red meat dishes. The service throughout was as one would expect from a Michelin Star restaurant - discreet, attentive and professional.
We started the meal with a small swordfish mousse then had starters of fried foie gras with apple and truffle sauce and Willies daily special of pea soup and fish dumplings. The food is certainly of Michelin Star quality, the pea soup was delicious and the balance of truffle sauce and foie gras was an unexpected delight. For the main course we opted for Tournedo of beef and the Venison, both were superbly cooked and perfectly flavoured with rich sauces.
For dessert we shared a crepe with fresh strawberries and a white and dark chocolate mille-feuille, which were extremely delicious in particular the mille-feuille. One thing to note about Willie´s food is that not only is it delicious but the presentation is immaculate.
Willies restaurant would be the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or for an excellent romantic dinner. The whole experience is a sensorial feast that will not disapoint.
Willies proved to be as good as any in the Algarve. The seafood ravioli was exceptional but everything else was excellent. Quality comes at a price, so it is for a special occasion, but not to be missed.
9/10 for food and 8/10 for service.
