The small colourful houses of the village tumble down the hillside and cluster around the rocky outcrop at the southern end of the beach. There are several restaurants and snack bars to choose from – perfect for al fresco dining. The beach itself, holder of the prestigious Blue Flag, is a broad curve of fine sand, backed by cliffs and dunes. The clear water is excellent for snorkelling and at low tide there are plenty of rock pools to explore.
Access onto the beach is easy – by ramps and wooden stairs. The beach is well signposted. Coming from the south, turn right just before the village of Aljezur and follow the signs.
