Zoomarine Overview

Zoomarine is one of the biggest Algarve attractions and it certainly lives up to the hype. Open all year round, entry tickets are very reasonably priced, and you can spend a fun packed day at the park with plenty to keep all the family entertained.
The big attractions at Zoomarine are the spectacular presentations. The Dolphins are perennial favourites, with a breath-taking demonstration of the dolphins’ agility, intelligence and the special bond they have with their trainers. The Wonderful World presentation features seals and sea lions, sailors and lost treasure. This show gets lots of laughs from the audience and is definitely one that the kids will enjoy. The Enchanted Forest presntation with tropical birds is entertaining while at the same time that promoting environmental awareness – always a priority at Zoomarine. The birds of prey presentation is dramatic and awe-inspiring, and allows you to get closer to these majestic creatures than you ever thought possible.
Current favourite is the 4D cinema show. Aimed at raising our environmental awareness, this is an entertaining assault on your senses. Polar bears sliding down glaciers, monkeys throwing apples at you, sharks with their teeth bared swimming towards you - fantastic! Another big attraction is the Aqualocos High Dive Show – ridiculously acrobatic dives into a small and shallow pool!
If all that isn´t enough, there are family fairground rides, including the big wheel, which gives a spectacular view of the whole park, a mini rollercoaster and some water slides. The park has good access for wheelchairs and buggies, so is definitely enjoyable and accessible for everyone.
What impresses most about Zoomarine, is that all the animal shows and exhibitions are educational and promote awareness of environmental and conservation issues. There is also a newly built Rehabilitation Centre. Marine species that have washed up along the Portugal coastline in distress are treated here before, hopefully, being released back into their natural environment.
For a once in a lifetime experience, there is also the opportunity to swim with the dolphins in the dolphin interaction area. This is located in a tranquil environment, hidden away from the main park and the programme includes an educational talk and the chance to take part in some of the basic training techniques in the water with the dolphins. This is a truly magical experience - although expensive, the contact with the dolphins and the memories you take away are priceless.

    i luv zoomarine

    steve brown from england, shrewsbury

I loved zoomarine as my daughter would love to work there when she is older. We have been quite a few times and we always have a great time. My daughters fave animal is a dolphin and she wants to do a job to do with dolphins. We always go there when we are at portugal. So whoever thought of zoomarine should be given a medal for thinking of it. You have made each time in portugal a happy time. Thankyou. Steve

Half of the slides and rides were shut down when i went which annoyed me as most of the place was cordoned off. I enjoyed the dolphin show though, that was it.

    Zoomarine ..

    hannah duffield from manchester

I really liked it there it was a good day out,, but what spoiled it it was raining :( i went to go swim with the dolphins 130euros , to be honest a little over priced for just an hour and we didnt do alot with the dolphins it took half an hour just to take pictures with everyone and then we only did 2 activities with the dolphins , after that it brightend up and i went to go see the dolphin show i really enjoyed that , then we went to look arround at the animals the seals didnt look very happy they were in slightly small pools and there was aload of poo at the bottom :s i was too scared to go look at the birds coz they was makin loadsa noise,, then i went to the 3d cinema i loved that one one of the best parts , it was really enjoyable and it had its own affects , if you are planning on goin to zoomarine you should try thaat out , but all in all it was a good day out but more for younger peopel im 13 and it was ok :/ :) hannah xx

    December visit

    nobby from hampshire

just been to zoom marine, what we saw was very good and kept us entertained for three hours or so, however quite a lot of attractions were closed and we felt the admission fee of twenty euro should have been adjusted accordingly, dolphin show was excellent as was the seal/sealion show, would go back again in a higher season to see the rest

I was overwhelmed how good zoomarine was

Laraine Chamberlain from Crawley west sussex

I absolutly LOVED zoomarine. The Dolphins was the highlight for me and to see them performing with their trainers to the lovely music playing was sheer joy. It was so good that i and a few friends had tears of joy in our eyes, and although we saw the morning performance, we went back and saw the afternoon performance too before we had to catch our coach back to Carvoeiro. We also enjoyed the sea lions, birds of prey, and the parrots. We even went on the park rides!! The whole day was truly magnificent and i would defiantly go again. I can't stop talking about it. WONDERFUL!! maybe next time i will swim with the beautiful dolphins.

    Amazing

    Autumn from England

I swam with dolphins a couple of years ago and it was amazing...me n my family always go when we go to Portugal. I do think they should change the shows though instead of doin the same ones every time. I think the new ride looks amazing...we didn't get chance to go this time but will definetely be goin next time though. I don't think it's fair that they dnt let anyone in the audience ride in the dolphins boat instead of choosing them before ... choose them in the middle of the show!!! I love zoomarine but wish to handle animals ...why isn't this possible...thanks to all the staff....see you soon..x

    We loved Zoomarine

    Sue Ford from UK

Excellent value for money for a really nice family day out. The dolphin show was amazing as were all of the other animal shows. There is a huge swimming pool in which to cool off when the weather is very hot. There is also a funfair and 3D cinema (one of the best we've been to). All of the above is available for the one admission price, food and drink is very reasonably priced (You are not ripped off like we are at our theme parks in the UK) I would highly recommend Zoomarine, we are returning to the Algarve this year and will definately visit Zoomarine again, the kids (and the adults) had the best day of their holiday there.

The highlight of the day and also my holiday was the dolphin show it was fantastic!!! My 5 yr old daughter sat mesmerised from the start to finish she also enjoyed spending time looking at the other attractions. Zoomarine was really cool, we went on this huge slide, a buffalo ride that went really fast,we went on a wet log ride and the staff were really helpful and tried to speak as much english as possible. The candyfloos was delicious, but, the best part had to be the shows. we saw the exotic bird show , which teaches a good lesson to kids, we saw the fantastic dolphins, and the brilliant seals. overall it was a good day out.

    Zoo marine is great!!!!!!!!!!

    Elle

Zoo marine was brilliant. Theres plenty to do there all day. The shows are brilliant. The dolphin show was particularly good. THere was plenty of choice of food in the food court and the prices were very reasonable. THere was only a small theme park but had good rides including a wheel that you could see the whole park from. The animals that were kept there were all in very large cages with plenty of space to move around and are well looked after. The 4D cinema was amazing and got its point across really well. THe three small pools were ideal for children and there was a huge sunbathing area with plenty of shade. The aquarium was good and gave you lots of interesting information about sea life. It is also a very environmental friendly place. I would definitely recommend going to zoo marine - it may seem expensive but once your in all you have to pay for is food. It was a great day out.

    A Great Day Out

    J Ashton

The weather was disappointing during our recent short stay in the Algarve, so we had to entertain the kids, instead of letting them enjoy the pool or the fantastic beaches as usual. Your website gave us some ideas, and the day spent at Zoomarine was good; everyone enjoyed it (ages 4yr to 60+ in our party.) Thanks
