Located in the tranquil surroundings of Montes de Alvor, just outside the very popular Algarve resort of Alvor, the restaurant is set in spacious grounds that boast two swimming pools, tennis courts and a sauna . The views across the countryside sweep down to the Ria Alvor river and the gardens are dotted with bougainvillea, olive and palm trees.
The design of the restaurant draws heavily on the Algarve’s Moorish past. The high ceilings, the arches and pillars, the colourful wall tiles and decorative windows all evoke the influence of the Moors. The terrace overlooks the lawn and pool and is the perfect place for relaxed al fresco dining. It’s also the prime location for enjoying those wonderful sunsets.
Santo António restaurant offers a good choice of Portuguese and international dishes with a range of fish and meat dishes to suit all palates. Their seafood deserves special mention as do the special African dishes that are available on request. Saturday nights are African nights at Santo António with live music and a selection of Angolan and African dishes. On Fridays the music is Portuguese with traditional Fado being performed. There is also a take away service available and a different dish of the day each day.
Given its setting and the ample indoor and outdoor seating, Santo António is an ideal location for group functions and celebrations, be they weddings, parties or business lunches. The staff will help you elaborate a menu to suit the occasion and they will take care of the decoration, leaving you free to enjoy the event.

very relaxing place
Emer from ScotlandWe stayed near Alvor earlier this year. We had lunch at Santo Antonio and then relaxed by the pool for a while. It was lovely - the food was fine, the pool clean and it was very peaceful.

lovely for lazy afternoons
Janet from LondonWe stayed just outside Alvor earlier this year and spent a few afternoons by the pool here. It was lovely and peaceful, and the gardens are very spacious. We had lunch too - very nice and friendly service.

From the A22, take the “Alvor” exit and head towards Alvor. Pass the Alvor Aerodrome on your right. Take the 2nd left, at the crest of the hill (on your right is a school and a bus stop), entering Urb. Sto. António. 100m down the road, there is a small round-about. Turn right - Restaurante Sto. Antonio is on your right hand side.
Coming in from Alvor, head towards Penina /Lagos / EN 125. Pass the Stº. António Bowling Green and the Santa Teresinha Apartments on your right hand. Take the next right and continue towards the small roundabout, 100m down the road, where you turn right – Restaurante Sto. Antonio is on your right hand side.
