The Quinta do Lago golf complex provides a challenging round amongst beautiful surroundings. In it´s history the Quinta do Lago golf complex has hosted several Portuguese Opens and it still hosts a variety of national and international tournaments.
Quinta do Lago Golf comprises of two separate 18 holes courses that offer different challenges. These are the North and South course. The terrain is similar on both courses, with wide fairways lined with pine trees, heather and spectacular wild flowers. Several lakes feature on the course which provides some challenging tests for the brave players.
The South Course was designed by an American and has hosted the Portuguese Open Championship no less than 8 times. The course is particularly popular with tour players because of the possibility to hit the greens in regulation through several different ways. However, the course favours the longer hitters who can attack it to achieve a low score. The back nine of the South Course are probably the most spectacular holes at Quinta do Lago, where you play right up alongside the stunning Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, and have to hit some challenging but stunning shots over water! Most worthy of a mention is the fantastic par 3 15th where from the white tees you are required to carry over 200 metres over a lake to reach the green.
The Club House offers several facilities, including the pro-shop, locker and bathrooms, bar and restaurant. The large and informal terraces provides the perfect setting to relax with friends and have a well earned drink after your round!
