The ideal gift is one that gives pleasure to both the giver and the reciever, that isn't quickly used and discarded. A gift that can accompany you on your life's journey and that can in turn be passed onto your friends and families. If such a gift was also a sound economic investment then that would truly be the perfect gift.
Meinke Flessmans art works are just such gifts. Her paintings, beautifully executed, are accessible and evocative. Her paintings of animals are appreciated by experts and amateurs, young and old. They allow the viewer to imbue the painting with their own emotions and meaning.
To give a Meinke Flessman painting to a child or grandchild is not just giving an original gift that will give pleasure over many years. It is also a sound financial investment - and one less vulnerable to the vagaries of the stock market than many investments.
Meinke Flesseman, Dutch by birth, was raised in Portugal. After several years travelling, she returned to the Algarve and its landscapes, from where she draws much of her inspiration.
Meinke creates layered, textured canvases, fantastically rich in colour and movement. Her paintings reflect her love of her surroundings and her connection with the natural landscape. Paintings of animals are central to Meinke’s work. They exude how much she enjoys painting animals and her fondness for them.
