Alambique Overview

Serving Portuguese and International cuisine, Alambique is a well established restaurant with a very good reputation. Set close to the premier Algarve resorts of Quinta do Lago and Vale de Lobo, the restaurant has a very loyal following.

Open for dinner only, you can choose to dine inside or make the most of the warm evenings by dining outside on the terrace. The interior has a typical Portuguese feel to it and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. The service at Alambique is excellent and the food is extremely good.

Restaurante Alambique comes highly recommended and is well worth a visit during your stay in the Algarve.

  Disappointing

  We've eaten here a few times and always had a good experience but were very disappointed with our visit last Thursday. Our table wasn't ready on arrival. When it was we were rushed to order. We weren't offered a wine list. It took 40 mins for our starters to arrive, however both were excellent. Our main course followed promptly but steak was undercooked and vetables were poor. Once our plates were cleared we were left unattended for about an hour while the owner and host looked after their favourites. Staff levels seemed to drop at 10pm and service was deteroriated rapidly. We asked for the bill which took another 20 mins. I don't think we'll return.

  Very disappointing evening ;(

  After numerous visits to O Alambique my family were very disappointed at our meal last week. The restaurant has been enlarged and as a result the kitchen cannot cope with the additional heads. We waited 2 hours for our main course which arrived on scorching hot plates but the food was cold and over cooked. The waiting staff could also not cope with the amount of tables they had to serve and rushed about all evening. We will definitely not go back!

  Nothing less than brillant

  One of the best restaurants on the Algarve. The family are welcoming, yet highly professional. The food is the best, wine fabulous with a first class atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit

  Fantastic Service and Ambience

  We went on a girls weekend (4 of us) to get away from babies/toddlers and have a well needed break. This restaurant came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. We had such a fantastic evening, the food, service (run and owned by a great family) and atmosphere were first class, and we could not have had a better evening. It set us up perfectly before a very late night out in Val De Lobo. We will be returning this year, with 6 girls!

  The best service and fantastic food

  very friendly staff and the food was great. It is a non-smoking restaurant but there are tables inside, next to fire place where you can smoke. Very friendly for everyone!

  We all love Alambique

  I first went to Alambique for my Mother's 70 Birthday, two years ago, we were in a group of ten and the atmosphere and food were excellent, all the staff made us feel very welcome, price wise brillant, we loved it so much that we went back the following night and have return many times since then. Everyone I know who travels to the Algarve knows this Restaurant and is of the same opinion. I cannot wait until we return next week.

  Alambique is truely a fabulous place!

  We visited Alambique to celebrate my 40th birthday. All 8 of us had a fantastic meal, various starters from tomato soup to prawn salad, and main courses from stroganoff to steak all of which were brillantly presented, excellent quality and tasted out of this world. And to top the evening off I was presented with a birthday cake and the staff sang happy birthday to me. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We can not recommend this venue highly enough. Looking forward to the next time we visit.

  I love tomato soup!

  I must say that the tomato soup is splendid. I've eaten in many restaurant's all over Portugal but this is by far the best. I also thought that the steak was out of this world. Highly recommended

  We had a fantastic meal meal - food is excellent quality, service is slick and efficient - Chris Evans had his wedding reception here for over 200 people and I can see why!
